Wellness and Disease Management Program

Project Overview

The State of Alaska, Department of Administration, is soliciting proposals for a program to replace the current “AlaskaCare Employee Wellness Program” (known as HealthTracks) on behalf of current state employees and their dependents represented by the following collective bargaining units:

  • Alaska Correctional Officers Association (ACOA)
  • Alaska Vocational Technical Teachers Association (AVTECTA)
  • Confidential Employees Association (CEA)
  • Inlandboatmens Union Representing the Unlicensed Marine Unit (IBU)
  • Marine Engineers Beneficial Association (MEBA)
  • Supervisory Unit (SU)
  • Teachers Association of Mt. Edgecumbe (TEAME)
  • State employees that are exempt from collective bargaining

At the present time, there are approximately 15,900 employees and dependents represented in this wellness initiative. While other collective bargaining units, political subdivisions, and State of Alaska Retirees are not included in this RFP, the state reserves the right to add the employees and dependants of other bargaining units, political subdivisions, and State of Alaska Retirees during the course of this contract and all renewals at the same price per employee offered in response to this RFP in effect at the time of the addition.

The new program is intended to improve the health of plan members and their dependents, reduce the escalation of health care costs through establishing a culture of health in the workplace, institute effective disease management programs, and encourage members to initiate or expand healthy lifestyle choices.
