Statewide Administrative Systems Replacement
Project Overview
The Department of Administration is preparing to replace its AKSAS accounting and AKPAY payroll systems, which support approximately 16,500 employees in all three branches of government and have been operational since 1985 and 1990, respectively. The two enterprise systems are written in COBOL, NATURAL, and Assembler programming languages and are becoming more difficult to maintain as they approach the end of their useful lifecycle. More information can be found on the State of Alaska’s Administrative Systems Replacement Project website.
