Restroom Upgrade
Project Overview
The Wichita Federal Courthouse is a historical building. The scope of work is to restore the men’s and women’s restrooms located on the second, third, and fourth floors. The separate handicap accessible restrooms are not included in this project unless they are located within the same space as the main restroom location. Most restrooms have original fixtures, accessories, and room finishes. One problem area is that the restrooms are built with the same 2” thick marble block floor flush jointed above a sand bed and concrete deck. This may pose a health condition. The urinals are floor type and are original to the building. There are janitor sinks in most of the men’s restrooms with exposed pipes behind. The walls and toilet partitions for the most part are marble. There are wood doors at the toilet stalls. There are original towel bars in a few of the restrooms.
